Sr National Kickboxing: Odisha bag 20 medals

A 17-member Odisha squad reaped a rich haul of 20 medals in the Senior National Kickboxing Championship, which was held at Maharshi Dayanand University in Rothak, Haryana from 18 to 21 July, 2019. The medals include seven gold, seven silver and six bronze.

According to a press release from Amateur Kickboxing Association of Odisha, the state squad finished sixth in the championship. The squad was led by AKAO president Kartik Dakua.

ODISHA MEDALISTS:

Kirtirani Sahoo: Three gold
(Womens below 70kg point fight, kick light and musical event).
Deepak Kumar Sa: Two gold (Mens below 57kg light contact and best fighter).
Ashok Kunwar: One gold (Mens 69kg kick light).
Sudeep Moharana: One gold (Men’s musical event)
Mihir Kumar Sahoo: 2 silver (Mens above 94kg point fight and musical event)
Debabrata Raula: One silver (Mens below 74kg kick light)
Jotish Mahananda: One silver, one bronze (Men’s below 57kg light contact and kick light)
Md Shabaz: One siver, one bronze (Mens below 57kg point fight and musical event)
Habibur Rahman: One silver (Mens below 57kg low kick)
Aman Kumar Nanda: 2 bronze (Men’s below 45kg point fight and musical event)
Ambika Gupta: One siver, one bronze (Womens below 55kg point fight and light contact)
Nazma Banu: One bronze (Womens below 65kg light contact).
